Visual and audiovisual arts

This translation is a brief summary of the text in Dutch. The full version is available in Dutch.

Children between the ages of 6 and 12 can grow creatively at their own pace. They experiment and discover what interests, inspires or amazes them. The children are given exercises to do with various materials: clay, paint, charcoal, chalk pastels, papier-mâché, printing ink, recyclate, photography and more. In this way, they learn different techniques with professional help from the teaching staff.

For the 6- and 7-year-olds, the Dutch-language academies in Brussels only offer discipline-specific initiation for this discipline.

With adolescents aged between 12 and 17, the focus is on creativity and discovery. You can be yourself in the workshop. You can experiment with images and evolve at your own pace.

Various options are open to adults from the age of 18. Each academy focuses on specific courses. Examples of possible options:

  • painting, drawing
  • sculpting and spatial art
  • ceramics, jewellery design/precious metals
  • photographic art, graphic art
  • restoration forging, wooden furniture restoration.

In most cases, no conditions of admission apply for the visual and audiovisual arts. Contact the academy where you would like to register for more information.

Consult the School Seeker for details of the courses on offer at the academies.
